Kilian Jornet's Record-Breaking Kilimanjaro Speed Climb
Each year, approximately 35,000 people attempt climbing Kilimanjaro, the highest freestanding mountain in the world. Only two-thirds of them are usually successful, mostly due to altitude-related problems. The fastest ascent was made in 2010 by Spain’s Kilian Jornet, age 22. He made it in 5 hours, 23 minutes, and 50 seconds.
