Shane, the 1949 novel by Jack Schaefer, was the Mules’ pick for July. It was chosen as a mercy. (Some of the members felt they’d earned a little relief after two heavy reads.) I knew that the film based on the book would come up during our discussion – so, having one of those rare two-hour blocks of time with nothing urgent attempting to eat it up, I found it on Amazon Prime.
And now, after months of being away from TV, I have my second review for you in less than a week.
